My FWB (we've been on and off again for 6 years) has been calling me his girlfriend for a few months now. I never really formally agreed to it, but I just figured if it made him more comfortable, I'm not really seeing anyone else right now anyway...

So, I saw him yesterday and he said he is changing his myspace status to read "in a relationship". Teasing, I asked if this was for his *other* girlfriend, to which he replied "no, you of course".

I don't really want to change mine to read "in a relationship" since I am not sure I want to take myself off the market like that, for him anyway (I love him as a friend, but he's definitely not my true love in life)... I tried to explain to him that he is better off leaving "single" since he is in an up-and-coming band, and it will help with popularity with the women.

What does this all mean? What do I do?

When I had a FWB we saw each other maybe twice a month if that. We were good friends and got along very well. Our relationship was purely booty call driven. I've always thought thats what a FWB was not someone that you see 3 or 4 times a week.

Has the FWB definition changed?
