An Intellectual Guy (Male, Toronto, 22-25, Administrative) asked:

hey ladies,

i have a question about flirting. this girl i kind of know, and really want to know a lot more, flirts a little bit with me. i just don't know if she does it with all the guys or if she's just doing it with me cause she likes me.

the flirting is fairly subtle, but, definitely easy for me to notice.

is there a way to tell if the flirting is just flirting, or if the flirting is her way of telling me she likes me.

HOW BAD IS A LITTLE FLIRTING?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! / Jokes, Polls & Anything Else / 9:58 AM - Monday December 06, 2004 Back To Top
A Thinker (Female, Washington, DC, 22-25, Who Cares?) asked:

This weekened my frineds and I got into a debate about flirting. I told them that I see nothing wrong with flirting. I have a man and we both flirt. We appreciate the beauty in everyone we see and we let it be known to them that they are beatufil. Well my frineds say that they would kill theri man if they caught him flirting. I say that it's harmless and healthy. As long as no numbers are exchanged and no sexual contact is made, what's the problem? I argued that everyone loves to hear that they look good, or that they are beautiful, so why not just tell them? Would you be upset at a person that told you you were beautiful or flirted a little with you? I have no rpoblem with my man flirting and he doesn't have a problem with me flirting. How many of you think flirting is harmless? How many of you would be upset with your s/o if you caught them flirting?

An Alternative Girl (Female, Washington, DC, 22-25) asked:

For a couple weeks I've been flirting with this single guy at work. The flirting has been mutual and not friendly-flirting, but more my-loins-are-hot-for-yo u flirting. It's a bit awkward at times and he's blushed occasionally. When I inquire about his lovelife, he says there's nothing going on, but later drops that he's dating some girl. Come to find out through a male friend, he's had a girlfriend for over a year. What's up with that? Why the quasi-withholding of information from me? I can't figure out what this guy thinks he wants.

A Career Woman (Female, Cleveland, 29-35, Who Cares?) asked:

Everyone talks about flirting, but rarely do people define what they mean by flirting. You hear things like, "He flirted with me" or "I could tell she liked me because she flirted with me all night." So, when you use the word "flirting" what do you mean by it? Give examples. How do you distinguish between a touch-feely person and a person who is flirting with you?

Men- what clues do you give women that you're into them? As far as flirting- do you make certain comments to let us know you're interested? What's the difference between flirting with a friend and flirting with someone you might want to know better? When are we supposed to know you like us?
