Hi Sharkie, the Calphalon pan with a nonstick coating will provide easier release of foods and will probably be easier to clean. Generally, manufacturers of cast-iron pans recommend that you scour them with hot water and a brush to clean them, then hand-dry. While many people think that a well-seasoned piece of cast-iron cookware provides easier release than traditional coatings like stainless steel, nothing will provide the slick release and easy clean-up of a pan with a non-stick coating.

I've never used a preseasoned iron skillet, but I LOVE the Calphalon non-stick . . . I have a whole set of the cookware.
