fyi - i will not call him. although i don't think he's a player, he's definitely been around the block!

If he called the next day, you should have nothing to worry about. Guys usually call two to three days after a date.

He said "lets talk next week", which means that its OK for you to call. But you won't, correct? Well, the week isn't over yet, its only Thursday. Give him until next Monday. If he called you today, would you be upset? Maybe, but he certainly has your attention, doesn't he? He'll call you when he's ready to, not when YOU want him to call. Be patient, he's trying to gauge your attitude for the long term and be a challenge. He's probably treating you differently than most guys. If he does call don't make an issue out of it. He's differentiating himself from most guys.

Don't call him. You're dead on there. He's probably just icing you. If he calls too soon, he comes across as needy and not a challenge. Waiting a week or even two, even if I have nothing to do and am crazy about a girl just makes her wonder what I'm doing and makes me more mysterious and attractive. Its a shame that it works that way, but it really does. So, when I first start dating someone, its not uncommon at all for me to wait a week or two before I call them again. It just makes them respond better. So as backward as it seems, if I really like you, you'll hear from me less in the beginning. It'll secretly be killing me WAY more than you can imagine, not calling. But it does work.

So I wouldn't read too much into it, it could mean that he's into you and just wants you to want him more. ;)
