untitled / 3:05 PM - Friday January 03, 2003
A Thinker (Female, 36-45) asked:

I'm dating someone I met online for 2 1/2 months. Spent the holidays together and met his family. We're together every weekend and see each other 2-4x a week. He introduces me as his g.f. yet he's profile is still online. I asked him if he still wants to date other women since I see he's still online. He answers in the negative and says he's not active online anyway. So a week passes and he still hasn't taken off his profile. What's up with that? Should I ask him again about it? How should I phrase the question? When?

Hi: I would not push him. Sometimes that more you ask a guy to do something the more he will resist. (it is simply a way of showing some type of control). He may be not looking to relinquish this. I feel you should just overlook it for the time being. If it is still up at six months then it may be a problem and you can ask him to take it down again. Good luck nosidam

If things are good, forget about it, if they're not - look out.

He's hedging... it's easier to keep the profile just in case things don't work out. Maybe he's done this sort of thing before and knows how it will go... in any case, he's not ready to commit to you. You can wait, or you can go, it's your choice. He's decided to wait to remove the profile, and doesn't care if you don't like it. Good Luck.

He sounds like a player. You should put a profile up and see if he bites.

Maybe he's paid for it for a length of time.

Well you could ask him again or have one of your friends respond to his profile and see if what he says he means.Of course talking about it again in a non-confrontational manner may prove your concerns to be without merit.Anyway,Good Luck and I hope it works out for you,I think it will.Happy New Year!
