Drive-Thru Dating / Sex & Intimacy / 1:30 AM - Wednesday March 05, 2008
A Rebel (Male, New York, 36-45, Who Cares?) asked:

Sigh..

I guess it's time to bury it.

The Lost Art of Seduction.. is dead.
I expect the last nail in the coffin of Chivalry will be driven soon.

Romance, Seduction and Passion were killed by the Hookup, Booty Call and 1-Night Stands.

Quality.. is no more ;(

*RIP*

Very well said, kind sir. Wilt thou wearest my lace handkerchief upon thine arm for yon jousting competition?

I think the reason that the art of seduction is dying or dead is because people rush into the sexual part of a relationship with someone they have known a few days to a few weeks.
My husband was very good at seduction with roses on the first date, roses sent to my work, love letters in the mail or where I would find them when I woke up.
I do enjoy a romantic man. They are rare though.

NOPE!! I am TERRIBLY LUCKY, I have a real chivalrious gentleman as my partner..!! Woo Hoo I NEVER take him for granted... Chivalry is NOT dead, and my partner is teaching his son and my boys the same too!! So HOPEFULLY there will still be a few out there to show femmes how to really be treated....
Romance and seduction isnt dead for me either.. I am terribly romantic, I leave little notes all over the place for my man to find.... I do so many other things I won't mention too!!
Keep acting the right way and eventually it will come back to those who deserve it!!
Cheers, Misty

True Chivalry has no more in common with romance and seduction, than does the Samurai Code.
It's said that true Chivalry died at the Battle of Crecy, in 1346, where common English men-at-arms and archers slaughtered thousands of French knights, who were the cream of the French aristocracy.
The Dark Knight would know this.

sad isn't it? morals, self respect and self worth are going right out the window. When you start seeing 10 & 11 y/o's having sex and giving oral sex (on school buses), you can't help but wonder where this will all end.

Yes, it's dead, no matter what anyone else says. What good will a few last minestrels be, if the females will look at them with pity and disgust and wonder why they're not assertive enough to just take what they want, caveman style...

What saddens me most is that the ones who killed Romance were... the women... those who don't understand they're supposed to take their time, set hurdles and pick the BEST there is (an evolutionary mechanism, I'm sure). No, today you pick the first up and off you go to possibly procreate.

Steve wrote the obituary, I'll write the forecast: in vitro fertilization with sperm picked from a catalog. Romance? In a test tube? HA!

Oh no it is not! I have seen the same thing, but I think it really boils down to the two people involved! It is just hard to find the right person that makes it worth while!
