I say yes, you never know where he may go and need a good associate. I would bet one day you'll get a call asking you to join him at his new gig. Good associates are difficult to come by & he already knows you. Networking can never hurt, especially in these times. You never know when you may need a contact. did you do a typo there? is it supposed to say, give him a gift certificate or should he give you one? im confused!!!

if it is correctly stated, as in give yourself a certificate then i say its a bad idea...

actually its a bad idea for either of the scenarios...if you give him one then it will look like blatant brown nosing...he wouldnt give you one, and for you to give yourself one is stealing...so bad idea!

No gifts. Very inappropriate. If you dated him, give him a gift in private. If you liked him, hand him a card wishing him well. Since he is the boss, he already has/had access to your phone number if he wants to keep in touch. If not, let it be. It is up to the company to give him a gift if they so choose. If not, so be it.
