I feel bad for couples with daughters, especially if that's all they have. All over the world, boys are preferred over girls and studies have shown that sons hold marriages together while daughters are curses to marriages. Couples with 3 boys are 10% more likely to remain married than couples with 3 girls. And who wants girls anyway? All they grow up to be are women and what good are they? That isnt true. Girls are blessing too. More girls get adopted in China than any where else. I dont think theses statics know what there talking about. But if they is any truth its probably because the mother feels threatened that the father is going have sex with his daughter but the boy isnt seen as a threat to there Marriage.

Wow, no WAY! Girls are great too! My daughter is a cute, smart, lovely girl. She makes lunch/dinner and brings a cup of tea and my medicine when I'm sick. She makes me laugh when I am down, hugs me when I cry.....girl, what are you talking about!!??!!! It's blessing to have a child whether it's a boy or girl.

My family has favored sons for a long time because of our culture. But OMG it's the women that run our families! LOL MY nephew is adorable and my niece couldn't be just as adorable and sweet as she can be. How could I love one more than the other...impossible!

this thinking was true once, but is now passe.

i know it takes a little convincing, but while it is widely thot so in traditional homes, and the statistical finding may still hold true, alot of old mothers n fathers are secretly and young enlightened ones are fast to thank that they have daughters who will care for them.

Sons are like trophies, in some circles, but daughters are their comfort.

I have a son and daughter. They are both intelligent, talented, loving people who have high aspirations. I have no doubt they are both destined to greatness in their lives.

I have to say that it's rather sad that you are so disgusted with yourself as a female. I certainly hope you have no plans to procreate, as an attitude like that would surely poison your children's minds and make them feel less than what they are.
