i Love romance and fun but....

lately my boyfriend has no romance at all and i am a firm beliver in romance....yea supposedly im in la la land because supposedly sutff like that doesnt exsist in real life. i have gone to reading romance novels to get some kind of romance in my life how do i tell we need to step it up....

Your way too young to get enslaved to a romance-less relationship. Long term romantic men exist out there...

If you really want to tell him then do it the way you would want him to do it to you.. romantically... prepare a nice candlelight dinner for him, wine, whatever... and talk about it.

Tell him how important it is for you to have this element in your life and what you are now doing to satisfy your own needs because he has been failing to do so. It's not just Romance 101 he's failing.. it's Listening 201 as well.

You're buying romance novels because your boyfriend lacks the consideration and care for what it is you enjoy. You like romance. And, the fact, that you've stated "lately" suggests that at one time he knew cared about the romance you enjoyed. Now, he obviously doesn't.

If you don't mind reading romance novels for the duration of your relationship in order to get romance, stick with him. If not, move on. Because, it doesn't seem like he cares enough to want to give you what you want or need. What are you doing to keep romance alive? You both need to step it up. But, it's your choice whether you want to stay in a relationship with deteriorating romance.

No, you are not in lala land. You have hooked up with someone that doesn't fit what you're looking for in a relationship. There are many men that believe in romance.....It seems like you need to look for what you want in a man and not have to rely on books. Sorry, but, your relationship won't last if it's already lacking the substance you want/need.

Why does he have to initiate all the romance? Why can't you do a little of it yourself? My husband is a Marine and he works very hard. He comes home dead tired and he doesn't always have the energy to bring in the romance. So, I'll cook him a wonderful meal; we'll eat with candlelight, I'll hand him some lotion and have him give me a full body massage. I'm not going to make him do all the work.
You say you are 18-21. That means it's time for you to be an adult. I'm 20 years old and I've been married for 2 and a half years. So I know you're old enough to be able to put some work into a relationship. Maybe you're not ready for marriage, yet, but every relationship should be practice for marriage. Don't dump a man just because something isn't going your way. Try to work it out. No relationship will be perfect unless you're both willing to work at it. Good luck!
