EXPRESS YOURSELF MY GAYS...

Some of my Gays are pushing for Marriage while others are pushing for Civil Union... which one would satisfy you (if they both come equally with partner recognition for benefits, rights, etc)?????

I don't care as long as it satisfies what gay people are looking to achieve, while at the same time, NOT, repeat NOT opening up litigation for some unthought of cause and affect situatiopn later on in years to come where allowing this right creates more problems....and law suits.

**ALL** marriages are a "civil union" by virtue of being a legally binding contract between two consenting adults. It doesn't matter what name you give it. I don't see why ANY two consenting adults should be banned from joining themselves in such a contract.

Well this is big government gone wild isn't it?

How about we all (straight or gay) draw up a legally enforceable contract with the person we decide to be with? Forget marriage, it really doesn't work and the whole institution is falling to pieces. Go for a contract that encapsulates what you both agree to, what the penalties are for breaching the agreement, what happens if one of you dies etc. What more do you need? Civil union is the way to go for all of us.

Whether we choose to call it civil marriage or civil union, I believe the same term, and the same laws, should apply to both gay and str8 couples. Separate but equal is and has always been a crock. creating a separate status for gay partnerships is discriminatory in and of itself. It implies that theirs is a different kind of love. That's total bullshit. Love is just love. It's a universal human emotion.

I guess it all boils down to whether you believe marriage is about love or just about sex. I believe it is about what's in our hearts, not what's in our pants.

Maybe we should get rid of marriage all together since it practically doesn't exist anymore.

I mean, who really keeps their VOWS? Those vows are supposed to make up a marriage. Haven't seen a real one for awhile...

I'm not gay so I don't really care if they marry, have a civil union, or just shack up together. If they want marriage just for "benefits and rights", then they are marrying for the wrong reasons.

I am no one's property but my own and I am FOR marriage.. NOT civil unions. It's very insulting to me.

If EVERYONE must get a civil union and NOT a marriage when they want to get hitched, I don't see how I could complain but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I'M NOT GAY AND I'M NOT BEING MEAN, BUT I DON'T SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE. MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN MAN AND WOMEN.

i think it's their choice..why can't we live each of our lives without judgment on someones else's expense..when their even not hurting anyone.

What about common laws??...how far do you want to go in judgment on others who are adults, we can't live their lives..that's between them and God?

the straight and narrow, comment..was a bit judgmental...P.P.
