Right, mum hates her job and is setting up her own business. Ideas?

She is a real people person, witty, intelligent and a great mum. She hates housework and paperwork, but I can run that side for her. We were thinking Ann Summers type parties, or she coulf easily be a column journalist but doesn't know where to start. Oh, and she's 53 with some great stories to tell but books don't earn authors much.

Update: November 07, 2009.
Ace ideas. Sadly she's not very good with pressure from people (so dealing with stressed brides would be a bad idea!) but I like the boutique idea. We don't have much cash from dad's business and the bank won't loan to her because she's never had any credit to build a history (we looked into it) so low start-up costs would be best. What do people want in a recession?

business ideas you came up with are great. bridal coordinator (if she has tastes), party coordinator, interior decorator, and more. it comes down to her skills and likes/dislikes.

If she is that great with her stories, have her write some articles and send in to some local papers for a start. I did that and ended up having a column in a local paper for about 2 years.
