Too old to be pizza face!

I thought that with the end of high school my facial blemishes would go away - zits are for high school kids...but I'm 21 now and my face is rebelling worse than I did when I was 16. Pimples and other blemishes pop up every other day, especially around the time my period comes, I can't seem to use enough concealer!

I've tried a whole bunch of different drug store brands of cleansers, washes, creams. The only one that makes it a little better is the Tea Tree oil line from the Body Shop. It's a drying agent, but it's still not 100% effective.

Any suggestions? What do you use? Any tips/tricks

Surprisingly, all those "drying agents" could be contributing to your acne. I'm around the same age as you and I used to have really bad acne in middle school. I don't wear makeup that much (on very rare occasions I'll just wear mascara and a little bit of eyeshadow and maybe blush). I use pH-balanced bar soap to clean my face in the morning.

I also have a tube of Nature's Cure vanishing cream. I use it when I do have small breakouts (which are around my period as well). You seriously only need a small dab for it to work...I've had this bottle forever! It's not that expensive and you can get it at drug stores.

About twice (three times in the winter) a week I'll exfoliate my skin with Apricot Scrub (it's VERY cheap, got mine for a dollar).

I also moisturize every night with Clinque (which is a bit more expensive) but it works very well. You might want to stop using concealer for a while until you get the acne under control.

It's a lot of work but I hope it helps! I know how it feels to have a bunch of acne, ugh.

I'm no dermotoligst but since it's worse during your periods it could be a hormonal imbalance. Talk to your OBGYN or a dermotoligst.

Luckily I have NEVER had bad skin, thanks to my good pale genes.....lol

Best advice the Derm Dr gave my son going through issues in high school:

CHANGE YOUR PILLOWCASE ====EVERYDAY====

(oil, dirt and sebum which collects in your pores transfers onto your face from that, also make sure your hair , if it is longer, is kept away from your face at night. He did this after PROACTIVE and RX and the pillowcase trick was the only one that worked....also dont use fabric softener on them---it makes the case stickier, and 100% cotton is best)

At your age I had BAD acne and my doctor prescribed Accutane. In a couple months my acne was completely gone. I still get pimples here and there, but my face stays mostly clear now.
