I have a friend who only calls me when she is overwhelmed. What is this all about ?

Most of my friends talk to me on a regular basis but one only calls when she is at the end of her rope.

Why do guys make it so difficult?

Why does a guy make things so difficult for a girl who likes him, why give her so much pain and hurt if he never was interested? He first conveys the impression he likes her, is attentive and caring, texts and calls her on the days they cannot meet, presents possible solutions to potential problems put up by the girl, and when he has near about convinced the girl that he may just possibly be the one, tells her he cannot reciprocate her feelings?? Do they derive some sadistic pleasure from toying around with a girl's sincere feelings? Have any guys ever felt the same about a girl?

Question about a girl and being rejected

A girl I went out with once, told me after the date that there was a missing connection. I can accept that. Our date was a week ago tonight. We had previously talked for about three weeks prior to meeting for the first time.

Is it acceptable at this point, to send her an email asking if she would be interested in simply being friends? I came to like this girl for who she is, and at this point, I am completely over wanting a relationship with her. However, I still like who she is, and would like to be friends with her. But I don't know if it's appropriate at this point. We haven't had any contact since she told me there was no connection.

This is going to sound like a joke, but I swear it isn't...

I actually tried to post this last night, but for some reason it never went through or came up.

Anyway, this situation is kind of hilarious, kind of awkward.

I am a college student. Very often, students exchange contact information such as e-mails or phone numbers in the event of a missed class, group project, whatever. In my literature class, we were assigned this short story that was not in the textbook. The man who sits behind me mentioned he found it on Google books and asked if I wanted him to e-mail it to me so I could print it out. Sure! I should have known when I got home, I'd have a Facebook request from the guy. Sure enough, I never see these things coming. Fine, let's be Facebook friends. There are photos of my boyfriend and I all over my profile, plus it lists I am in a relationship with him, and I make frequent "status updates" about (what else?) spending time with my boyfriend. Now, he never really crossed the line. We rarely veered off school topics. He'd IM me here and there, and mostly I'd ignore them, especially when they said things like, "It's too bad you have a boyfriend" or "Your boyfriend is so lucky". He even offered to do my term paper for me, I declined! (He NEVER says things like this to me in class, in fact, we barely talk in class. Just "hello" and "goodbye" and "what did you get on that paper?")

I thought this would make it loud and clear that he does not have a shot in hell without having to come out and say it.

So last night, I was minding my own business, making my typical wise ass remarks here on A/O and checking my Facebook at the same time. He starts IMing me again ON Facebook, asking where I was in class (I was too hung over from the World Series festivities.) and generally BSing with me. Then he told me that he bought me a hubcap for my car. (I've been missing a hubcap on my car since July, and actually just crashed my car two weeks ago, got it fixed, and now it's a brand new car with a missing hubcap, it looks ridiculous, but I refuse to let things like this bother me.) Typically, something like this would make me ecstatic. What a thoughtful gift! But I feel this is on the border of creepy town. How does he know what kind of car I drive? And more importantly, how should I handle this? My girlfriend says I should insist he take like $20 bucks for it. I have to spend another month, twice a week in class with this guy! I don't know how to get my point across any clearer without being a total jerk. WTF?! Like I said, this is pretty hysterical, isn't it? But really, how should I handle this?

I want to say thank you

My niece Crystal passed away today @ 3:05 p.m., she is in the arms of JESUS. I want to thank everyone who may of said a prayer for her. She was so weak she could not fight no longer. I ask this, please say a prayer for her children her mother and her dad. She will be missed more than words can say.

I say this to everyone... hold your loved ones as if it were the last time, not one of us knows what tomorrow holds.

I know that to be absent from this life, is to be present with OUR FATHER. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Torn between what decision to make...

I meet one of my friends guy friends about a month ago. They had went out on a few dates and have hung out together, but he didn't feeling any sparks for her and he told her that, so they just remained friends. She has always wanted more from him, but he has told her a number of times that he doesn't want any more than just friendship with her.

He has been talking to me off and on since we have meet. He finally told me that he was interested in me and would like to get to know me better. I have told him that I couldn't do that because it would devastate my friend if she ever found out that that we have been chatting or did something together. He has asked me a few times to meet him to hang out with him, but I keep telling him I can't. Well, he asked me to go with him for the day somewhere. I am torn because I would like to see where my feelings are for him BUT, I do not want to hurt my friend in anyway. Although, it has been over and was never really anything between the two, I still feel horrible if I do agree to go with him and would be parnoid about her finding out if we were together.

I have talked to him about how she feels about him and how it would affect her and our friendship, but he keeps asking me to just get to know him better. What should I do?

I dont want my friend to change anymore!

We are in college. I know that everyone is changing because we are growing up. But he is changing for the worse!

He was in my honors and Advanced Placement classes back in high school, but we go to a pretty prestigious medical university and he's suddenly taking the easy classes and FAILING them!

We've know each other for years and have been very close. He told me he loved me. But lately he is just not the same. He's fallen into the wrong crowd and he's even been selling drugs. It hurts my heart to watch him failing classes and throwing his life away.

I can't understand it. I gather that his parents were pretty abusive, but so were mine!

What do you think I should do? Should I talk to him about it? Should I invite him to hang out with my friends or should i stay out of it?

I know he is hurting and trying to run away. But how can I tell him that isnt the answer?

I dont want to give up on him because it hurts my heart so badly to see him falling.
What do you think? Should I at least TRY to help?

Isnt that what friends are for?

Would you return something to someone you hadn't spoken to for years?

I found something while havng a sort out that belonged to someone I used to know. We had a huge falling out and I haven't spoken to them for years. I don't even remember how it ended up in my stuff.

Now I plan on returning it, at least to their parents because I know they live in the same house. Mainly because believe that keeping it is childish and would drag me down to ther level.

what would you do? Would you bother having not spoken to this person for years, they didn't ask you if you had it, if they realised it was lost.
