How do you handle transition?

I started a new job a few weeks ago and after the first week I had decided I was not fond of it to say the least. After being off on Monday I had a change of heart and decided to approach it with a different perspective. I mean I've been unemployed since May and really should be grateful for the darn thing, right? Right, so yesterday I went back into work with the frame of mind that no matter how temporary it might be I should be thankful for it and do it to the best of my ability! Thank God for giving me a new frame of mind, because yesterday was a totally different day...

Worried about my new job.

Ok.... so I got a job in the field that I love, Photography, but I am worried if I am going to get fired or something. I get so antsy if there isnt anything going on. So here is where the situation stands.

The Manager hired 8 new people, me being one of them. With in 2 days 2 of the new people quit. Everyone was training last week and only 2 people, including myself knew how to use an SLR (professional camera) the right way and we both had previous experience with using them. The 2 of us are the only new people getting paid 8 and hour while everyone else is getting paid 7.50. The manager & asst. manager & i get along pretty well. the manager even said to me that her and I are so alike we can be related. Saturday I was on call and got called in, and my last client of the day was not only frustrating me, but other coworkers, since I handled most of the problems, the Asst. Manager let me leave 15 minutes early.

So this is where my mind wonders and starts worrying... I am scheduled to be on call most of this week with 2 definite days to work, where as the majority of the new people have more days to work before the busy season starts. Should I be worried... or is my imagination just being overactive?

Was asking a potential boss about his experiences really so bad ????

So I had an interview today for a job with an adoption agency. My job would be to work as a human resources professional.

Anyway, my would-be-boss asked me if I had any experience with adoption . I replied "not a personal experience but I certainly sympathize with parents and children dealing with this." He seemed to like my answer and the interview continued.

We talked about how difficult adoption can be - emotionally, etc.

At the end of the interview he asked if I had any questions. I asked him three random questions and I also asked what circumstances brought him to work for the adoption agency. He replied that he wrote a lot about adoption when he was a professor of sociology and that he adopted two kids himself. I replied, "oh how nice. how has your experience been with adoption?" He replied "THAT QUESTION IS BEYOND THE BOUNDS OF THIS INTERVIEW."

I was shocked !!! Did I cross the line with that question??? Afterall, we had been speaking about adoption experiences.....why couldn't he just say something like "oh things are great" and move on !

Does anyone believe.....

....when people have said that behind every bad thing that happens to you, there is GOOD??? Because it's a crock of SHIT if you ask me!!!!

Who else out there is struggling financially right now-more bills than money coming in and NO end in sight?? Also, every time one thing gets cleared, another crappy-ass incident comes along to take it's place??

Bottom line: Why does fortune smile on a select few and CRAP on everyone else, like me and my boyfriend ???
