Aren't you just a little skeptical? You, the kool aid types that are willing to ride on the Obama train to the bitter end, with whatever he proposes. As yet, I haven't heard a single dissent from you, his supporters, on any of his policy decisions.
I read the paper and can't help but wonder what planet you are on.
First:
"14 Americans killed in Afghanistan" Meanwhile, Obama can't decide if he's going to support the war effort and increase troop strength there, as requested by the General leading the campaign. Its been weeks now, and there appears to be no answer in sight. Maybe he'll agree to end the Afghan war after saying he would direct all his efforts to it, the rightful battle we should have been fighting. But why not follow through on what he promised in the campaign?
Then:
"Health care public option estimated to cost $1 trillion dollars" The legislation designed to tackle health care costs is ESTIMATED to be 1,500 pages. The domestic economy is suffering from a currency weakness, and Obama is proposing more spending.
And we should all do our part because "Giving Up Meat To Save Planet", says Lord Stern. A proponent of environmental policy in England and contributor to European environmental thought. It would all be laughable if not so related to domestic health care and energy policy. Obama has repeatedly shown an interest in European thought and policy. Such as in Coppenhaagen for Chicago's failed bid to host the Olympics. Or his foolish visit to accept the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslow, in spite of wide ridicule both domestically and internationally. Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize just two weeks after being inaugurated, the deadline for the year's Nobel prizes. These matters simply suggest to me that if Obama succeeds in passing a public option for health care, he'll tax the fat, the smokers, fried foods, and anything else you can imagine. Not only that, but you'll be forced to buy some type of health insurance. That isn't freedom.
Bush is rarely accused of anything except the most base insults on his character and intellect. Yet, I don't recall hearing of his laziness. Certainly not to the extent of other accusations against him. But here I see:
"Obama Plays more golf in 9 months than Bush did in 3 years". Certainly things are not so good domestically for Americans to be golfing so often. Yet our president is doing the very thing. I wonder if he were white, whether any accusations would be made about his Republican pedigree or pampered life. Nonetheless, the suggestion is that there's been much more enjoying at taxpayer expense than ought to be appropriate.
There are other suggestions of incompetence and lack of discipline in the office by suggesting he is just now meeting with key domestic policy advisors. And over a round of golf, at that.
So no one is ready to cop to any negatives? Not one? Now that is deity status. Faultless Obama? Go on, you can say it. We know already. Obama isn't the golden boy you expected. He's just a politician. And a terrible one at that. A trained Chicago politician in all its ruthlessness. Can a comparison be made with Illinois' former governor, indicted on multiple charges of corruption? The interesting rise of both of these outsiders in Chicago politics are not unlike.
